After breakfast, head out for a full day of birding within Akagera National Park. Your guide will lead you through a variety of habitats including wetlands, grasslands, and woodlands.

After breakfast, depart Akagera and travel southwest to Nyungwe Forest National Park, one of Africa’s oldest rainforests and a birding hotspot. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch.

In the afternoon, take a guided birdwatching walk along forest trails, looking for species such as Rwenzori turacos, African picathartes, barbets, sunbirds, and more.Accommodation: Lodge near Nyungwe Forest

Today you will enjoy early morning birdwatching in Nyungwe Forest, an excellent time to observe forest species at their most active. After breakfast, begin the drive back to Kigali with scenic views of Rwanda’s landscape.
