Your safari begins with an early pickup from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. Enjoy a scenic long drive through western and south-western Uganda, with a stop at the Equator crossing line for photographs and a brief break. Continue to Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch before proceeding through the terraced hills and countryside often referred to as the “Little Switzerland of Africa.”

Arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the late afternoon and check in at your chosen lodge.

This is the highlight of your safari. After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers before entering the rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. Trekking can take between 1 and 6 hours depending on gorilla movements, with one hour spent observing and photographing the gorillas once found.

Return to your lodge for lunch, then visit the Batwa pygmy community nearby to learn about their traditional way of life and culture.
