Your safari starts with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Kigali. You will drive east toward Akagera National Park, crossing scenic hills and rural landscapes.

Arrive in the park at midday, check in at your lodge, and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, set off on your first game drive across the park’s savanna plains where you may spot antelopes, zebras, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, lions, and a variety of birdlife.

After breakfast, head out for a full morning game drive covering diverse habitats including woodland, grasslands, and wetlands. Your guide will help you spot key species such as elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, buffaloes, and various antelope species.

Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, take a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Ihema where you will have excellent chances to see hippos, crocodiles, water birds, and animals coming to the water’s edge to drink.

After early breakfast, enjoy a final short game drive in Akagera National Park to spot any wildlife you may have missed. Later, begin the drive back to Kigali.
