Depart Nairobi early in the morning and drive north through Kenya’s central highlands, passing Mount Kenya region and rural towns.

Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge or camp located inside or near Samburu National Reserve.

After some relaxation, head out for your first afternoon game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River, a hotspot for elephants, crocodiles, and big cats.

Look out for:

• Elephants
• Grevy’s zebra
• Reticulated giraffe

Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Samburu’s semi-arid terrain and riverine forests provide excellent opportunities for spotting predators and the rare northern species unique to this region.

Return for lunch and relaxation during the heat of the day, or opt for a full-day game drive with picnic lunch.

• Visit to a traditional Samburu village
• Guided nature walk (where permitted)

In the late afternoon, enjoy another game drive as animals return to the riverbanks.
