Kidepo Valley National Park

Kidepo Valley National Park is Uganda’s most remote and spectacular wilderness area, located in the far northeastern corner of the country. The park is characterized by rugged savannahs, acacia-studded plains, and rocky outcrops, offering a truly wild and untouched safari experience.

Kidepo is home to large herds of elephants, buffalo, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, and leopards, alongside a remarkable diversity of antelopes, such as oribi, hartebeest, and kudu. Birdlife enthusiasts will also enjoy spotting over 450 species, including rare species like the ostrich and kori bustard. Visitors can explore the park on game drives, walking safaris, and cultural visits to the local Karamojong communities, who maintain traditional pastoralist lifestyles. Kidepo’s remote location means fewer tourists, making it perfect for travelers seeking solitude, pristine wilderness, and dramatic landscapes.
